Set and Tech...Theatre Isn't All About the Lime Light:1

After I participated in set day I was extremely tired. It made me realize that there are more things to a play than just actors. It made me appreciate more what people do for a production. It takes lots of jobs to produce a play. There is set construction, lighting, tech, etc. I think that tech will play a humungous role in our prodution of mulan. Theatrical tech is kind of hard to get but with practice I am sure I would love to learn more about it.

Kabuki What? And Other Things You Never Knew About Theatre:3

OMG! STOMP was absolutely positively AMAZING!!!!! The rhythm of the of the show was awesome. It made me want to go home and bang on everything in my garage. My most favorite thing about it was that it was fast moving. It didn't stop at all! My favorite part was when the lights were off and you could here the sounds of the drums, and when they were swinging back and forth banging on everything. My least favorite part was nothing. I loved every minute of it! I thought meeting the performers was a cool experience. Even though i didnt ask any questions it was still pretty cool to meet them all. The music really reminded me most of Greek Theatre. The way that they had complete control of there bodys movements really amazed me.

This website is actually pretty cool. It lets you research all sorts of different topics on Greek Theatre. For example it doesn't just give info on Greek Theatre, tells you about Athenian Theatre. It researches about the actors, the type of stage they used, the stage directions, etc. I noticed one thing about the differences between Greek and Kabuki Theatre. Greek Theatre is more of the social aspect of there way of life. Kabuki Theatre is more of a story telling of there history. I honestly think i would love Greek Theatre.

Kabuki What? And Other Things You Never Knew About Theatre:1

This site is actually quite reliable. It informs you on the time periods of Kabuki Theatre, the plays they have done before, the places you are still able to witness Kabuki Theatre, the language they speak, and much more little details that you would never know about it. This sight may be small, but it is jam packed full of great information. Kabuki was nothing like i thought it was. I thought they would speak Chinese but apparently they speak some sort of language that is very difficult to understand. I think i wouldn't have liked Kabuki very much. Even though the rotating stage is pretty cool.

Let's Learn More About this Theatre! :3

This web link is a very well detailed story about the ancient Chinese story of Fa Mulan. I read this article myself and actually makes me rethink the character of mulan. It makes me proud to play this character because there is so much emotion being held up inside of her. It all just pours out into this major action that she does that changes the world.

Let's Learn More About this Theatre Stuff! :2

This web link is chocked full of information about the musical theater. The types of theater like Kabuki, to the history of musical theater through the ages is all described through this site. Not a lot of people actually know anything about the theater. Most people just think its about costumes, acting, singing, make-up, and dancing. Theater is much more than that though. It's about the feeling of pretending to be someone you're not, well that's my opinion anyway.

Let's Learn More About this Theatre Stuff! :1

Hello. My name is Olivia Hitt, and I expect to have a great time learning about the theater. I think this program will help me learn about what to do and what not to do when on stage. The auditions for this play I have to say were a little nerve racking, but I had so much fun doing them. I feel very honored to play the part as Mulan. I will absolutely try my very best to make this character shine. Yes, but this is really my first year of being involved with Highlands Little Theater and the only other play I have been in was High School Musical. I played the part of Martha Cox. I think that this will be a better experience for me.
